DRFC Doncaster up against bogey side

Vital Doncaster looks at the head-to-head record between Doncaster Rovers and Reading ahead of Tuesday`s rearranged game at the Keepmoat.

If ever a club can be called a bogey side then that certainly is the case with Reading.

In nineteen encounters at Doncaster through the years, Rovers have won just two, Reading eleven and six have been drawn.

Rovers have lost the last six encounters between the two sides at Doncaster and they have yet to taste victory in their seven meetings home and away since promotion to the Championship.

They have also scored in just one of the last five games at home against Reading, when Billy Sharp converted a late penalty in the 2-1 defeat during the 2009/10 season.

You have to go back to the 1982/83 season for Rovers last home success and it is a game for anyone over the age of 35 who attended the game, can still fondly talk about.

Rovers won the encounter 7-5 with Ian Snodin scoring a hat trick for Rovers and a certain Kerry Dixon scoring four for the visitors.

When they met at the Keepmoat last season, goals from Shane Long, Jimmy Kebe and Jobi McAnuff secured a 3-0 win for Reading.
