DRFC Crystal Palace v Doncaster Head to Head

Vital Doncaster looks at the head-to-head record between Crystal Palace and Doncaster Rovers at Selhurst Park ahead of the game on Tuesday night.

Despite both clubs being over 100 years old, they have only previously met on seven occasions.

Of the previous seven occasions at Selhurst Park the home side have won six and Rovers one.

The first ever meeting came during the 1959/60 season when Palace won 4-0 and the following season they went one better winning 5-1.

The next meeting was over twenty years later when they met in the League Cup.

Third Division Rovers held a slender 1-0 advantage following the first leg at Belle Vue but bowed out of the competition in extra time 2-0 to lose 2-1 on aggregate.

It was another twenty-two years before they met again, once again in the League Cup.

Rovers had only just returned to the Football League and despite a brave performance lost 2-1, with Greg Blundell scoring for Rovers.

The first championship meeting between the two came during the 2008/09 season.

Paul Heffernan gave Rovers an early lead but a contentious penalty decision saw Matt Mills sent off for Rovers.

Shefki Kuqi scored from the spot and a winner in the final minute of the game from Alan Lee won the points for the home side.

Rovers enjoyed their only ever win their in the 2009/10 season when Billy Sharp, James Hayter and Martin Woods scored in a 3-0 win.

When the two sides met last season, a first half strike by Pablo Counago claimed all three points for Palace.
