DRFC Saunders refusing to give up on survival

Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders is refusing to give up on beating the drop into League One with just six games remaining.

Rovers are six points from safety and have an inferior goal difference to the side currently occupying the places outside the relegation places at the bottom of the championship table.

Saunders is refusing to give up though with two games in three days over the Easter period and he believes the side can still put a run of wins together.

Speaking in the Doncaster Free Press, Saunders said, "I won`t allow any of the players to think that we can`t stay up.

"We were all really disappointed by the Birmingham result because we played well and had two great chances to go ahead at the start of the second half.

"But we have two big games this weekend and we have to stay positive.

"If we can win them both then we`re right back in it - that`s the way we`ve got to look at it.

"Any team in this division is capable of winning four games on the trot and we have to keep on believing we can do that."

Rovers have gone seven games without a win and have picked up just three points in their last seven games.

Their win at Nottingham Forest in March is their only win in the championship since beating Barnsley on January 2nd a run of just one win in fifteen games.

Rovers travel to big spending Leicester City on Saturday before returning to the Keepmoat for their game with Burnley on Monday.
