DRFC Doncaster v Portsmouth Head to Head

Vital Doncaster looks at the head-to-head record between Doncaster and Portsmouth over the years at Belle Vue and the Keepmoat.

The two sides have only ever met on six occasions with Doncaster winning one, Portsmouth four and one draw.

The first ever meeting came in the 1946/47 season when Portsmouth won a FA Cup Third Round clash 3-2 at Belle Vue.

Rovers solitary win came when they next met during the 1978/79 season when Billy Bremner was assembling a strong side at Belle Vue.

A 2-0 win for Rovers at the end of October ensured that Bremner won the Bells Scotch Whisky Manager of the Month.

Their only draw came during the 1981/82 season when they shared a goalless draw in a game that was the featured match on The Big Match.

The following season, Portsmouth won 2-0 at Belle Vue as Rovers were relegated from Division Three.

Last season was the first time they had met in 29 years when goals from Dave Kitson and Joel Ward either side of half time secured the points for Portsmouth.
