DRFC Doncaster v Portsmouth Team News

Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders has a number of players struggling for the crucial relegation clash with Portsmouth on Saturday.

Rovers go into the game knowing that nothing less than a win will give them any chance of avoiding relegation and Saunders had to make nine changes for the game with Burnley last Monday from the one that faced Leicester on Saturday.

His problems were made worse when Brian Stock limped out of the game early against Burnley on and he is a doubt.

Carl Ikeme, El Hadji Diouf, Habib Beye, Herita Ilunga, Pascal Chimbonda, Shelton Martis, Frederic Piquionne, Martin Woods, Paul Keegan, Habib Bamogo and Tommy Spurr all missed the defeat to Burnley on Monday through injury.

Portsmouth have been hit by a virus in their camp this week and they will be hoping that the players have recovered in time to face Rovers in what is also a must win game for the South coast club.

Portsmouth will be without Tal Ben Haim, Nwankwo Kanu and Aaron Mokoena through injury.

Once again lots of players out through injury. I thought they had looked at what the problem was with injuries last season.

I think Mal Purchase must have spent most of this season banging his head against the wall, unlike Dean Wilkins of Southampton he hasn`t had the benefit of surplus strikers to give him the chance to get the strike team fully fit.
