DRFC Former defender released again

DRFC Former defender released again

Rotherham United have released Richard Naylor who spent the first half of the season with Doncaster Rovers.

Naylor joined Rovers last summer following his release from Leeds United.

Sean O`Driscoll signed the 35 year old after a successful trial during pre-season and he signed a short-term deal with the club.

The defender made 15 appearances for Rovers before being released in January after coming to the end of his initial deal.

Naylor joined League Two side Rotherham United in January and he made just five appearances before suffering a knee injury in February that has ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

New Rotherham United boss Steve Evans met with Naylor to tell him he would not be renewing his short-term deal with the millers.

It is the third time he has been released in twelve months by Leeds, Doncaster and now Rotherham.

I think it is about time for him to retire. Decent enough player when fully fit but that is where the problem is.
