DRFC Former keeper earns new deal

Former Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Andy Warrington has earned a new one-year deal with Rotherham United.

The 35 year old was out of contract at the end of this season and he looked to be on his way out of the millers under former boss Andy Scott, having made just six appearances.

Former Boston United manager Steve Evans replaced Scott as manager in April and Warrington reclaimed his place in the Rotherham starting line-up, starting the last three games of the season.

Warrington spent almost eight years with Rovers, signing in 1999. He made over 200 appearances. During his time at Belle Vue, he helped the side win the Conference play-off final and the Division Three title in successive seasons before being released in January 2007 and joining Bury for the remainder of the season having spent a month on loan at Gigg Lane.

The following summer he signed for Rotherham and he has now played over 200 games for Rovers South Yorkshire neighbours.

He has now played over 200 times for Rotherham and he will look to play for them at their third different ground next season, since his arrival.

Rotherham move to their new, New York Stadium next season having already played at both Millmoor and the Don Valley Stadium in the past five years.
