Fenton In Shock Move To Grimsby

Nick Fenton has today joined League Two side Grimsby Town on a three year deal. This will come as a surprise to Rovers fans as Fenton signed an extension to his contract last season. Fenton was not in the starting line up's of the first few games this season but was seen as good cover for central defence or right back and had played well pre-season.

Fenton signed for Rovers in the Summer of 2004 on a free transer from Notts County, for whom he had joined from Manchester City for £150,000.

Fenton will go straight into Grimsby's squad to face Bury on Saturday.

He was on loan at Bournemouth during his spell at Man City. I seem to remember he did well. I was quite young at the time though.

good luck nick at Grimsby, I think its a shame that you have left but that takes a bit of the wage bill and we do have quite a few defenders so maybe we can strengthen the team in other area's (up front)
