DRFC Dumbuya hoping to make it fourth time lucky

Doncaster Rovers defender Mustapha Dumbuya will be hoping to make it fourth time lucky next weekend.

The 24 year old earned his first international call up in February when he was included in the squad for the African cup of nation`s qualifier against Sao Tome Principe. He was forced to miss the game after a mix up with the travel arrangements.

Dumbuya had been on loan with Crystal Palace when he earned the call up but by the time he was preparing to leave for the game, he had returned to Doncaster. The tickets for his flight to Africa were sent to Palace and by the time the mistake had been noticed, it gave him no time to collect the tickets and make the flight.

The defender was called up for all three of Leone`s games this month but he was forced to pull out of the first two through illness.

He is now hoping to make his first international appearance in their African cup of nation`s qualifier against Sao Tome Principe on Saturday June 16th.

In the two games he has missed this month, Leone beat Cape Verde 2-1 at the start of June and they drew 2-2 with Equatorial Guinea on Saturday in their 2014 World Cup finals qualifiers, to sit second in the table after two games.

Dumbuya is out of contract at Rovers this summer and free to leave after being released by the club.

I still cannot believe he hardly got a game for Rovers last season and now we have released him.

I think he will end up at Palace.
