DRFC Rovers to face York City in Cup

Doncaster Rovers will be reacquainted with old foes York City after the pair were drawn against each other in the Capital One League Cup First Round.

York have returned to the Football League after an eight year absence, after winning the Blue Square conference play-off final against Luton Town.

The last time the two met was at Belle Vue in April 2004 when Rovers won 3-1 to virtually condemn York to non-league football.

They have met on three previous occasions in the competition with York winning all three on aggregate over two legs.

The last time they met in the competition was in the 1996/97 season when York went through 3-1 on aggregate.

The two will meet at the Keepmoat in the week prior to the League One season kicking off on August 18th.

The fixtures for the League One season will be announce on Monday (June 18th)at 9am.
