DRFC O'Driscoll - Good time for Rovers return

Former Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll says it is a good time to be travelling to his former club on the second weekend of the season.

O`Driscoll has recently been appointed the manager of newly promoted Crawley Town and O`Driscoll feels his former side will still be trying to see where they fit into life back in League One after four seasons in the championship.

Speaking following the announcement of the fixtures on Monday, O`Driscoll said, 'It will be interesting to see how they adjust to coming down from the Championship.

'It's probably as good a time as any to take those sorts of clubs on when they are trying to see where they fit.'

O`Driscoll was sacked as Rovers boss last September after picking up just one point from the sides first seven championship games.

This was after leading the club back into the championship in 2008 after a fifty-year absence from the second tier of English football.

O`Driscoll enjoyed six years with Rovers after joining them in 2006. He led them to their first domestic trophy in 2007 when they beat Bristol Rovers in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy final.

Twelve months later, he led the side out at Wembley for the first time when they defeated Leeds United in the League One play off final.

O`Driscoll maintained the clubs championship status for three seasons before they finally slipped back into League One last season.
