DRFC Rovers boosted by financial support

Doncaster Rovers have been boosted by the news that Dick Watson and Terry Bramhall will continue to financially support the club.

The multi-millionaire businessmen resigned from the Rovers board last season and it was believed it would leave just chairman John Ryan to finance the club.

At the clubs first football fans forum on Monday evening it was announced that the pair would continue to financially support the club despite not returning to the clubs board.

Speaking in the Doncaster Star, Ryan said, "They`ve both been committed to the club for the last five years and we because we each own a third of the shares each we actually own the club in that respect.

"It is very important - especially after relegation - that they are still involved because it is easy to walk away when you are in a downward spiral after 10 years of an upward spiral - though we intend to turn things around next season."

At the meeting, it was also announced that they would be looking to sell most of the high earners currently in contract at the club as they look to prepare for life in League One on a much lower budget.
