DRFC Second signing of the day completed

Doncaster Rovers have completed their second signing of the day with the capture of experienced striker Robbie Blake.

Premier League side Bolton Wanderers released the striker at the end of last season and he has signed for Rovers on a one-year deal.

The 36 year old made just three appearances for Bolton last season, his last coming in the Carling Cup defeat to Arsenal in October.

The experienced striker has made over 600 appearances, scoring 166 goals in a career spanning 18 years.

Blake started out at Darlington before spells at Bradford, Nottingham Forest, Burnley, Birmingham, Leeds, Burnley again and Bolton.

The striker has played in the Premier League with Bradford, Birmingham, Burnley and Bolton.

Blake follows winger David Cotterill in signing for the club today as Rovers boss Dean Saunders looks to build a squad capable of making a quick return to the championship following their relegation at the end of last season.

A great signing for League One, he knows where the net is and he takes some great free kicks.

Robbie Blake at his best is spellbinding he is worth the gate money just to watch him mesmerise defences. Watch the League cup semifinals second leg at Turf moor Burnley v Spurs He turns the Spurs defenders inside out. Also Watch him score the Winner Burnley v Man Utd. Pity he jumped ship to Judasville just for the Money. But most Burnley fans still view him as a legend.

His legs aren't getting any younger. I just hope he can sustain it over a season after hardly playing for two seasons.
