DRFC Bye Beye - Habib leaving Rovers

Doncaster Rovers defender Habib Beye will not be returning to the club for the 2012/13 season.

Beye signed an eighteen-month contract with the club In February after being released by Aston Villa.

The contract included a clause that would release him from the contract if Rovers were relegated from the championship.

Last week Rovers boss Dean Saunders said he was hopeful of sorting something out with Beye but after a meeting with the player, Beye will be moving on this summer.

Saunders told BBC Radio Sheffield, 'We've come to an agreement with Habib. We haven't done the paperwork yet, but he won't be here next season.'

Beye initially joined Rovers on loan last November before going on to sign a full time contract in February.

The 34 year old made 23 appearances for Rovers during his two spells at the club last season.

Beye struggled with his disciplinary record whilst at the Keepmoat, serving three suspensions.

He collected five yellow cards in his first seven appearances and he was also sent off twice against Bristol City and Portsmouth.

I couldn't see him coming back. All those that came in last season couldn't wait to move on. No wonder Rovers went down with the attitude of the McKay players coming into the club.

Even if he'd stayed, he would have been suspended half the season.

He was never going to stay.
