DRFC Rovers lose first pre-season game

Doncaster Rovers lost their first game in pre-season when travelling to the New York Stadium for the first time to face Rotherham United.

Rotherham enjoyed the majority of the play in the first half and their best opportunity came when Alex Revell and Kayedi Odejayi both went close in the same attack.

David Cotterill had Rovers best chance close to half-time when he fired wide.

Saunders made three substitutions at half time with Jonathan Maxted, Brian Stock and Martin Woods replacing Gary Woods, James O`Connor and David Syers.

Rovers took the lead early in the second half when David Cotterill cut inside before firing home from outside the area for his third goal in four pre-season games.

Rotherham turned the game round in the space of six minutes in the second half with goals from Mark Bradley and Kieran Agard.
