DRFC Saunders expecting Friend to leave this week
Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders expects George Friend to complete his move to Middlesbrough at the start of the week.
Friend held talks with Middlesbrough last week and it was also reported that Ipswich Town were keen on taking last season`s player of the year to Portman Road.
Speaking on the official website, Saunders said, "I think George has more or less agreed to go to Middlesbrough, so that will probably be happening on Monday."
Friend played no part in Rovers latest pre-season game with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
