DRFC Gillett joins up with former boss at Forest

Former Doncaster Rovers midfielder Simon Gillett has joined up with his former boss Sean O`Driscoll at Nottingham Forest.

Rovers released Gillett at the end of last season and he has spent the first part of pre-season training with Portsmouth.

Gillett has now cut short his spell with Portsmouth to join his former boss O`Driscoll at Forest and he is currently having a trial with the midlands club.

O`Driscoll signed Gillett during his time at Rovers from Southampton and he was an integral part of his midfield at the Keepmoat.

The midfielder made 81 appearances for Rovers in two spells with the club having also had a brief loan spell in the 2009/10 season.

The 26 year old made 48 appearances for Rovers last season and he was amongst the award winners at the end of last season when local newspapers, The Star and Green Un named him their player of the season.
