DRFC Doncaster Rovers 3-1 Hull City

Doncaster Rovers beat championship side Hull City 3-1 at the Keepmoat in their latest pre-season friendly.

Rob Jones made his debut for Rovers after signing from Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the day.

Jones marked his Rovers debut with an own goal inside ten minutes and it could have been worse before half time when Hull missed a penalty, with the ball hitting the crossbar.

Martin Woods equalised for Rovers in the second half when his left foot shot found the net.

Rovers trialists Amari Morgan-Smith came off the bench to then fire Rovers ahead.

Fellow trialists Karl Hawley was involved in the move that led to Rovers taking the lead.

Woods made it 3-1 when he scored his second of the night from the penalty spot in the closing moments.

Team:
G. Woods (Maxted), Quinn (Morgan-Smith), Jones, Spurr, Husband, Cotterill (Keegan), Stock (Coppinger), M. Woods, Bennett, Brown (Hawley), Blake (Syers)

Subs
Wakefield, Mullen, McCormick, Ball

A decent second half performance. Kyle Bennett looks like a new player so far in pre-season. Long may it last.
