DRFC Rovers draw latest pre-season game

Doncaster Rovers continued their build up to the new season with a 2-2 draw with Barnsley at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Trialist James Harper was in the starting line-up but there was no sign of fellow trialist Billy Paynter in the squad.

Martin Woods gave Rovers an early lead before Rob Jones diverted the ball into his own net to bring Barnsley level at half time, his second own goal in two games for Rovers since signing from Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

Craig Davies put the visitors ahead with less than twenty minutes remaining before David Syers equalised for Rovers soon afterwards.

James Harper would be a great signing. With the numbers at the club, Rovers need a man with his experience in midfield.
