DRFC Quinn turns down Rovers offer

Defender Paul Quinn has reportedly turned down the offer of a contract from Doncaster Rovers.

The 27 year old has been on trial at the Keepmoat in recent weeks, is a free agent after being released by Cardiff City at the end of last season.

Quinn played no part in Rovers latest pre-season friendly with Barnsley on Saturday after featuring in the previous two against Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City.

The news will come as a blow to Rovers boss Dean Saunders who is down to the bare bones just two weeks before the league season kicks off.

Saunders will be desperate to add to his squad this week with the Capital One League cup-tie with York City this Saturday.

Striker Billy Paynter is expected to complete a move to the Keepmoat this week from Leeds United whilst Saunders is still giving trials to James Harper and Amari Morgan-Smith, who both played in the game with Barnsley on Saturday.

I think some players need to get their heads out the sand. He has hardly played in the past few seasons and he is just two weeks away from the new season himself. Probably wanting to much in wages. Time for some of these players to get in the real world with their demands. There are hundreds of players released every summer.

Hoepfully he will end up in non-league football.
