DRC Former striker finally finds a club

Former Doncaster Rovers striker Steve Brooker has finally found a new club after over a year in the wilderness.

The 31 year old has signed for the Blue Square Conference North side Buxton after training with the club recently.

He was an unused substitute in their FA Cup Third qualifying round clash at Hednesford Town on Saturday

Brooker has been without a club since his release from Rovers at the end of the 2010/11 season.

The striker suffered a frustrating two and a half seasons at the Keepmoat with injuries keeping him sidelined for most of his time with the club.

He scored on his Rovers debut whilst on loan from Bristol City in the 1-1 draw at Watford in November 2008 but an injury in training the week after meant an early end to his loan spell.

Despite him still being on the sidelines, Rovers made his move permanent in January.

He missed the rest of the 2008/09 season and the whole of the 2009/10 season with calf and ankle injuries.

Brooker made 16 appearances in the 2010/11 season but scored just once more for Rovers in their penultimate game of the season before being released by boss Sean O`Driscoll at the end of the season.
