DRFC Rovers face Crewe in JPT

Doncaster Rovers have been handed a trip to Crewe Alexandra in the last eight of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy Northern Section.

The tie is a repeat of the 2007 semi-final when Rovers won a classic tie over two legs.

After drawing the first leg at Gresty Road 3-3, Rovers looked to be on their way out of the competition when 2-0 down with less than half hour to play at the Keepmoat.

Paul Heffernan gave Rovers hope and then a twice taken penalty with just seven minutes remaining set up a grandstand finish.

Jason Price sent the Rovers fans wild with just one minute remaining when he scored the winner from close range.

Rovers went on to win the final with a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers at the Millennium Stadium.

The game with Crewe will take place in the week commencing December 3rd.
