DRFC Doncaster v Brentford Head To Head

Vital Doncaster looks at the head-to-head record between Doncaster Rovers and Brentford over the years.

The two clubs have met on 24 previous occasions at Doncaster, with the home side winning 11, Brentford 7 and there have been 6 draws.

The first ever meeting came at Belle Vue in the 1947/48 season when they shared the points in a 0-0 draw.

Brentford then won on their next three visits to Belle Vue before Rovers enjoyed their first win with a 3-0 win in the 1953/54 season.

Doncaster have twice put five past Brentford at home, winning 5-0 in both 1968/69 and 1976/77.

Brentford have enjoyed their biggest wins at Doncaster in the 1950/51 season and the 1971/72 season, winning 3-0 on both occasions.

The game at Belle Vue in the 1982/83 season brought to an end an astonishing run of results at home for Doncaster.

Doncaster had a run of four games that saw 36 goals scored that resembled a tennis match more than a football match.

Doncaster beat Exeter 6-1, Reading 7-5, lost to Wigan 3-6 before drawing 4-4 with Brentford. Doncaster actually led 4-1 at one stage in the second half with Brentford down to ten men but the visitors hit back to score three times.

In recent meetings Doncaster are unbeaten in the last seven clashes both home and away including their only ever encounter at the Keepmoat stadium in 2007.

Brentford have scored just once on their last six visits to Doncaster when they won 1-0 in the 2004/05 and it is their only win on their last thirteen visits.

On that occasion, Doncaster won 3-0 thanks to goals from Adam Lockwood, Mark Wilson and Lewis Guy.
