DRFC Notts County v Doncaster Head To Head

Vital Doncaster Rovers looks back at the head to head record between Notts County and Rovers at Meadow Lane over the years.

The two sides have met on 24 occasions, with County just having the edge. County have won 12, Rovers 11 and there has been just 1 draw.

Despite both clubs long histories, it was the 1950/51 season before they first met at Meadow Lane. Rovers won on that occasion 2-1 in a Second Division clash.

The following season, County enjoyed their first win when they won 1-0.

Rovers have twice scored five at Meadow Lane in a 5-1 win in the 1953/54 season and a 5-0 win in the 1957/58 season.

County enjoyed their biggest win in the 1997/98 season when they won 5-2, the last time they met in the League.

They have met twice since Rovers returned to the Football League in 2003 and both came in the First Round of the League Cup.

County won the first encounter 1-0 after extra time in the 2008/09 season and Rovers gained revenge the following season when a James Coppinger goal was enough.

Despite the last two encounters only producing two goals, there has never been a shortage of goals when the two have met at Meadow Lane.

The 24 games have produced 88 goals at an average of 3.67 per game. County just have the edge having scored 45 to Rovers 43.

There has never been a 0-0 draw when the two have met at Meadow Lane although the cup tie in 2008 was 0-0 after 90 minutes.
