DRFC Rovers v Bradford PA Head To Head

Vital Doncaster Rovers looks at the head-to-head record against Bradford Park Avenue over the years ahead of the FA Cup clash this Saturday.

The game on Saturday will be the first meeting between the two since the 1968/69 season.

Bradford finished the season bottom of the league and the Football League denied them re-election, something they have never regained.

They have met on 16 previous occasions, with Rovers winning 12, Bradford have won 2 and 2 have been drawn.

The first ever meeting came on Christmas Day in the 1923/24 season when they shared the points in a 1-1 draw in a Third Division (North) game.

The following season Rovers enjoyed their first victory with a 1-0 win.

One of Bradford`s only two wins came the following season when they won 3-0.

In the 1926/27 season, Rovers won 4-1 at home just two days after losing 7-3 at Bradford.

The last meeting in the 1968/69 season, Rovers won 4-1.

Rovers biggest win came in the 1965/66 season, when they won 6-2.

The two sides have never been short of goals when they have met. In 32 games home and away, there has never been a 0-0 scoreline.

There have been 116 goals in those 32 games at an average of 3.65 per game.

They have met once previously in the FA Cup when Rovers won a First Round clash 3-2 at Bradford.

The two clubs did meet in pre-season at Bradford when they shared a 3-3 draw.

Hope the home draw will be exciting enough to bring back some of our lapsed supporters.

Get a couple of early goals to take the pressure off. I wonder how many will turn out for the game?
