DRFC Rovers on brink of equalling club record

Doncaster Rovers travel to Preston North End looking to equal a long-standing club record.

Rovers made it ten games unbeaten in a row on their travels with a 2-1 win at Oldham Athletic on Wednesday and if they can avoid defeat at Preston, it will equal the club record that was set in the 1946/47 season.

Yeovil Town are the only side to have defeated Rovers on their travels this season, when they won 2-1 on September 1st.

Since then, Rovers have won seven and drawn three of their next ten games on the road.

Rovers have won the most away games in the top four divisions in English football this season having won eight so far this season.

They do have a long way to go to match the Rovers side that ran away with the Third Division North title in 1946/47.

That season Rovers won 18, drew 1 and lost 2 of their 21 league games.
