DRFC Rovers to blunt the blades?

Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield United meet today in a crucial South Yorkshire derby at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The sides are currently level on points in second and third place with Sheffield United just ahead on goal difference.

The festive period has proved profitable for Rovers who have taken maximum points from two games on the road.

Bookmakers William Hill make Rovers slight favourites to take the points at 13/8.

Sheffield United were the bookie bashers on Saturday as they lost to rock bottom Hartlepool United at home.

The Blades are 17/10 to return to Sheffield with all three points.

When the sides met at Bramall Lane in October, they shared the points in a 0-0 draw and it is 9/4 on a repeat.

David Cotterill is just one goal away from double figures for the season after hitting his ninth goal of the season in the win at Preston North End at the weekend.

The midfielder is 15/2 to score the first goal of the game.

David Syers has netted in Rovers last two games and he is 9/1 to open the scoring today.

Nick Blackman netted his twelfth of the season in the surprise defeat to Hartlepool and he is 11/2 to open the scoring for the visitors.

United striker Dave Kitson likes playing against Doncaster. He has scored in each of his three visits to the Keepmoat. He managed just four goals last season for former club Portsmouth, with two of them coming in the home and away games against Doncaster.

The experienced striker is 11/2 to open the scoring.

I am sure Kitson will get a nice welcome today

I can't believe he scored again. Not a popular figure at the Keepmoat
