'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DRFC Stevenage v Doncaster head-to-head

Vital Doncaster looks back at the history of games between Stevenage and Doncaster Rovers over the years.

It will be the first time they have met at Stevenage in the Football League.

The reverse game at the Keepmoat in September was the first meeting between the two in the league. On that occasion, they shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

Oliver Risser had given Stevenage the lead on sixteen minutes when he headed home following a corner.

Chris Brown scored with just eleven minutes remaining for Rovers when he fired into the roof of the net after a goalmouth scramble.

They have met on ten previous occasions in the Football Conference.

The first ever-meeting came during the 1998/99 season when after drawing 0-0 at Belle Vue, Stevenage won the return 2-0 at Broadhall Way.

Rovers have only won two of the eleven previous meetings home and away with Stevenage winning three and six have been drawn.

Rovers have only won once in their five visits to Stevenage when they won 3-2 in the 2002/03 season.

Stevenage have won two of the games at home whilst two have been drawn.

There have been just seventeen goals in the eleven previous encounters. There have been five goalless draws and on only three occasions have both teams scored.
