DRFC Flynn - We are the best team in this league

Despite Rovers defeat to Bury on Saturday manager Brian Flynn remains hugely confident for the remainder of the season.

Rovers remain joint top of League One with a game in hand on Tranmere, who are only above Rovers on goal difference.

Rovers still have seventeen games remaining this season and Flynn says the division will really take shape with ten games remaining, with the best teams in the division showing their true quality.

Speaking on BBC Radio, Sheffield, Flynn said, "I am looking at ten games to go, that is my target. That is when we will know where we are at and exactly what we are doing.

"That is where the true class shows in those last ten games when the real quality comes through.

"This squad isn`t broken. We are the best team in the league and I don`t mind saying it."

It was a strange weekend in League One, with only Bournemouth, who started the day in the top six winning.

Tranmere suffered a surprise 1-0 home defeat to struggling Carlisle United at home.

Swindon started the day in third place and they were held to a 1-1 draw at Crawley Town. Swindon still have off field problems, with robins boss Paolo Di Canio threatening to walk out on the club after influential player Matt Ritchie was sold behind his back on transfer deadline day.

With the club heavily in debt, Ritchie says he was forced to leave by the Swindon board. The clubs plight was made worse when the Football Association refused to sanction any players moving into the County Ground, whilst the club are in the process of a takeover.

Brentford continue to drop points after losing 3-0 at Yeovil Town. They have now picked up just one point from a possible nine in their last three games.

Sheffield United are another team on the slide. The blades were beaten 2-1 at home by Coventry City on Friday night and have now picked up just five points from their last seven games, slipping to sixth in the table.

A very bold statement to make after a 2-0 defeat to a side that hadn't won in twelve games.
