Bates To Spend A Penney

Dave Penney is tonight linked with the Leeds United Job. Whilst Kevin Blackwell is still the manager at Elland Road, it is widely regarded that he is now on borrowed time. Tonight's defeat against Sunderland could force Ken Bates to act.

Penney, a Leeds United fan, is available following his departure from Belle Vue a fortnight ago. Penney resigned after the club sacked his assistant.

Penney is regarded as one of the best young managers in England. He led Rovers from the Conference up to League One, just missing out on the play-offs last season. In last season's League Cup campaign Rovers knocked Man City and Aston Villa out of the competition before losing to Arsenal on penalties.

Since leaving Belle Vue, Penney has also been linked with England Under 21 job ( click here)

Who knows where Penney will end up, but he will not be out of work for too long.

Don't touch that job. It looks like Leeds have a lot of problems on and off the pitch.

Now that the overdrfat is being sorted out perhaps it would be a good job for Dave Penny. He had a good chairman now let him try a Ken Bates.
