DRFC Doncaster v MK Dons head-to-head

Doncaster Rovers meet MK Dons at the Keepmoat on Saturday and we look at the brief history between the two clubs.

Even under their former name of Wimbledon, the two sides have only met on six previous occasions at Doncaster.

Rovers have the slight advantage, winning three, Wimbledon/MK Dons have won two and there have been one draw.

The first one came during the 1977/78 season when Wimbledon won at Belle Vue 2-0.

The following season, Rovers enjoyed their first win with a 1-0 victory.

After a break of one season, Rover enjoyed a further success when they won 2-1.

The final meeting between the two sides, Rovers v Wimbledon came in the 1981/82 season when Wimbledon won 3-1.

It wasn`t until the 2004/05 season that the two sides met again and by now, the club had moved 60 miles north and changed their name to MK Dons.

Rovers won that first meeting with a 3-0 win on Boxing Day in the 2004/05 season.

The last meeting between the sides came in the 2005/06 season when they shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
