DRFC Coventry v Doncaster - Over The Years

Vital Doncaster looks at the head-to-head record between Coventry City and Doncaster Rovers over the years at Coventry.

The two clubs have only ever met on nine occasions at Coventry with the home side winning six, Doncaster two and one draw.

The sides met in the Championship on the penultimate weekend of the season. Rovers won 2-0 thanks to late goals from James Hayter (penalty) and Simon Gillett, the goals coming after Richard Keogh had been sent off for Coventry in an incident that led to the opening goal.

The win for Rovers, who were already relegated, also condemned Coventry to life in League One.

An amazing stat between the two clubs comes from the 1925/26 season.

When they met at Highfield Road in September, Coventry won 4-0. When they met in the return game at Belle Vue in January, Rovers ran out 8-1 winners.

A repeat of last year will do just fine. We owe them one after the game at the Keepmoat.
