DRFC Jones - It was a massive win

Doncaster Rovers Captain Rob Jones said it was a massive win after securing three points against fellow promotion rivals Swindon Town at the Keepmoat.

Rovers dominated the game but had to wait until ten minutes from the end for the only goal of the game by Jones central defensive partner Jamie McCombe, who headed home his first goal for the club.

Jones was delighted with the win and he felt it would have been two points dropped had they not found a later winner. "It was massive," Jones told SkySports.

"The lads showed determination and desire from start to finish. If it had finished 0-0, it would have been two points dropped.

"Today was fantastic from start to finish."

Rovers had a number of chances to open the scoring as well as a couple of penalty claims waved away.

Chris Brown was a constant thorn in the side for the Swindon defence and he forced Wes Foderingham into a great save in the second half.

Kyle Bennett and David Cotterill also tested the Swindon goalkeeper before the all-important winning goal.

Swindon rarely threatened against a well marshalled Rovers defence led by Jones and goalkeeper Gary Woods never had a save to make as Swindon were limited to shots from long distance.

I agree, I would have been fuming about the refs performance had we not won.
