DRFC Flynn delighted with performance

Doncaster Rovers boss Brian Flynn was delighted with his team`s performance after beating Swindon Town at the Keepmoat Stadium.

After losing against Coventry City on Good Friday, Rovers came into the game knowing a defeat against one of their fellow promotion hopefuls could see them end the day outside the automatic promotion spots. Rovers never looked in danger of losing as goalkeeper Gary Woods could have enjoyed the day off as Rovers dominated the game from start to finish and got the goal their performance deserved when Jamie McCombe headed home with ten minutes remaining, something that delighted Flynn. "It was a proper controlled performance from start to finish," Flynn told SkySports.

"I thought our tempo was good and everything we asked them to do before the game, they did."

The win over Swindon sees them start and important eight days, which sees them in action three times at the Keepmoat.

Having beaten one team with promotion aspirations today, Tranmere Rovers are the next visitors on Saturday before the re-arranged game with Carlisle United on Tuesday.

Flynn will be hoping they can secure maximum points from the three games having made the perfect start today against Swindon with one of their best home performances of the season. Rovers restricted Swindon, the leading goalscorers in League One to only three efforts on goal, which all went wide of the target.
