DRFC Former keeper in PFA Team of the Year

Former Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Stuart Nelson has been included in the PFA League Two Team of the Year.

Nelson spent just over a year with Rovers at Belle Vue during their promotion season from the conference and he made two appearances for the club. He made his two appearances over the Easter period as Rovers won 3-2 at Stevenage and Morecambe held them to a 1-1 draw at home before being released at the end of the season following the clubs promotion back to the Football League.

The much-travelled 31-year-old signed for Gillingham last summer after spells with Brentford, Leyton Orient, Norwich City, Aberdeen and Notts County.

Nelson has been the regular number one at Priestfield this season making 48 appearances, as Gillingham stormed to the League Two title

He enjoyed 19 clean sheets for Gillingham to earn his place in the PFA Team of the Year, which was picked by his fellow professionals in League Two.
