DRFC Ryan - Flynn is going back to his first love

Doncaster Rovers chairman John Ryan says Brian Flynn will be going back to his first love after stepping down as Rovers caretaker manager.

Flynn is going back to recruitment and development of future players for the club after telling the club he wanted to return to what he enjoys the most.

Ryan was full of praise for Flynn, who led Rovers to the League One title last weekend after taking over in a caretaker role from Dean Saunders in January and he says he will always be a legend at the club after his four month stint as manager. "Brian did a great job as manager and he won us the title. Brian real love is the development of younger players and that is what we brought him into the club to do," Ryan told Sky Sports.

"He felt he wanted to go back to his first love and we respect his decision. He will always be a Doncaster legend because he was only with us as manager for four months and he won us the title.

"He helped us out in a fantastic way and he is now going back to his real love. He has brought some great players into the club and he will continue to do so."
