DRFC Two new names in betting for Rovers job

Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett and Cheltenham boss Mark Yates are new names in the betting market for the vacant manager`s position at Doncaster Rovers.

Rowett has enjoyed a successful first season with Burton, where he led them to the play-offs before losing to Bradford City over two-legs in the semi-final.

The Burton boss is 10/1 third favourite with SkyBet with Paul Dickov still the clear favourite at 1/6 on.

Former Rovers defender Mark Yates is also creeping up the market. The current Cheltenham boss is 16/1 for the job. Yates led Cheltenham to the League Two play-off semi-final this season before losing out to Northampton Town. He spent twelve months at Belle Vue in the 1993/94 season.

Rovers announced yesterday that they now have a shortlist of four for the vacant position and they will be holding interviews over the next week.

The club would not give any indication of who the four were and they are expected to make an announcement sometime next week.
