DRFC Hume unclear what the future holds

DRFC Hume unclear what the future holds

Iain Hume, who spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers from Preston North End says he is unsure where he will be at the start of next season.

The striker played a huge part in helping Rovers win the League One title, making 36 appearances and scoring 7 goals and he says he will need to see what Preston will want to do, with him still having a year to run on his current deal. Speaking in the Lancashire Evening Post , Hume said, "My loan runs until the end of May so that it covered the play-offs just in case Doncaster were involved in them.

"Then I will officially be a Preston player again.

"I`ve got a year left on my contract and I`ll wait and see what happens.

"At the moment I`m fully expecting to be reporting back to Springfields for pre-season training.

"It`s a question I`ve been asked many times on Twitter by fans, and that`s the honest reply I`ve given them. Obviously there are a lot of financial restrictions on clubs below the Championship which might affect things.

"Doncaster have stated an interest, but it will come down to what Preston want to do."

Both clubs have new managers since his last involvement with either side. Simon Grayson took over from Graham Westley at Preston in February and it is believed that the former Blackpool, Leeds and Huddersfield boss is an admirer of Hume. Doncaster have appointed Paul Dickov as their new manager after caretaker boss Brian Flynn decided to take a senior role with the club.

Not sure he would do it for us in the championship but he might be a good substitute.
