DRFC Rovers to face Rochdale in League Cup

Doncaster Rovers will face Rochdale in the Capital One League Cup after the first round draw was announced today.

Rovers will face the League Two side at the Keepmoat Stadium in the first week of the season, week commencing August 5th.

The two sides have met twice previously in the competition with Rovers winning both.

The last time they met was in the 2006/07 season, when Rovers edged past Rochdale 3-2 at Belle Vue in a first round clash.

Rovers had trailed 1-0 at half time but three goals in twelve minutes by Mark McCammon (2) and James Coppinger but Rovers in firm control. Despite Rochdale pulling a goal back by former Rovers midfielder John Doolan, Rovers held on to progress to the second round.

Last season Rovers reached the third round of the completion after seeing off York City and Hull City in the first two rounds.
