DRFC Rovers opening day opponents will be.....?
The moment is nearly here, the time when all fans of Doncaster Rovers can sit down and start planning for the 2013/14.
On Wednesday morning at 9am, the fixtures for the new season will be released and Rovers fans can start planning for trips to the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.
It will be a first trip to the Reebok Stadium for Rovers since their move from Burnden Park in 1997.
You will need to be of a senior age to remember Rovers last visit to Ewood Park for a game against Blackburn Rovers. Their last visit was for a League Cup tie in 1969 and it is 55 years since Doncaster Rovers last visited in the League.
Rovers have visited the DW Stadium, Wigan, before in 2002 but it will be a first visit in the League, against a side who will be competing in Europe next season after winning the FA Cup in May.
On Rovers only previous visit, they recorded a memorable victory when as a non-league side, they beat the eventual League One winners that season 1-0 in a LDV Vans Trophy tie thanks to a Mark Albrighton goal.
There are also a number of local derbies. Barnsley, Huddersfield Town, Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday will all be on the agenda.
