DRFC Rovers start season with Blackpool clash

Doncaster Rovers will start life back in the championship with a home game against Blackpool on Saturday 3rd August.

Rovers first two games of the season are at home. They have no game on the second weekend of the season due to FA Cup holders Wigan Athletics` involvement in the FA Charity Shield.

Second up for Rovers are Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 17th August at home before they play at Wigan on Tuesday 20th August.

They finish the month with a trip to Charlton Athletic and a home game against fellow promoted side Bournemouth.

The festive period sees them at home to Ipswich Town on Boxing Day and Millwall on 29th December.

On New Year`s Day, they travel to the capital to face Queens Park Rangers.

A difficult start against three sides who have all been in the Premier League in recent seasons.

These three will put the new squad to the test, four points would be a decent outcome.

Blackpool have raised the question of how far should fans or clubs be asked to go to full fill mid week /evening fixtures! Despite the demands of TV - surely all divisions could have a computer imput restricting this to 100 miles. With sympathy and admiration to all Plymouth fans of course!
