Man Utd, Leeds, Bolton and Marseille trialists

It was the start of pre-season for Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night and the club were giving trials to six players including former Manchester United, Leeds United and Marseille players.

Rovers kicked off pre-season with a 4-0 win at Frickley Athletic, using three trialists in each half. Five of the six have been identified, with just the central defender remaining unidentified.

Rob Lainton
Bolton Wanderers released the 23-year-old goalkeeper at the end of last season.

Having come through the academy system at the Reebok Stadium he found himself third choice at the club and he left without making a senior appearance for the side.

Luke McCullough
Manchester United released the 19-year-old defender at the end of last season.

The centre back was loaned to League Two side Cheltenham Town in the second half of last season but he made just one substitute appearance in his six weeks at Whaddon Road before being recalled by his parent club

The youngster is a former captain of the Manchester United academy side and he has represented Northern Ireland at two different levels.

Danny Philliskirk
Coventry City released the 22-year-old striker at the end of last season.

Philliskirk has had spells at four different clubs having played for the Chelsea youth team.

The striker has made 15 senior appearances during his career at Oxford United, Sheffield United and Coventry City and he is still waiting for his first senior goal.

Chris Gadi
The 21-year-old French striker who plays for French Ligue 1 side Marseille. He has made three substitute appearances for Marseille in Ligue 1 during the 2011/12 season.

The striker, who can also play on the wing had a short loan spell with French third tier side US Boulogne last season.

Sanchez Payne
Leeds United released the 20-year-old midfielder at the end of last season.

Payne failed to make a senior appearance for Leeds and he had spells out on loan at Lincoln City and Buxton.
