DRFC Rovers draw with Motherwell
Doncaster Rovers drew their latest pre-season friendly against Motherwell 0-0.
Having given the squad 45-minutes each so far in pre-season, boss Paul Dickov gave most of the starting eleven at least an hour of the game with Mark Duffy making his Rovers debut having signed from Scunthorpe United.
Trialist goalkeeper Marion Kello played the 90 minutes and there was also an appearance from fellow trialist Luke McCullough but there was no place in the side for Sanchez Payne or Danny Philliskirk who had played in the previous three games.
Scottish Premier League side Motherwell are ahead of Rovers in pre-season as they prepare for a Champions League qualifier in the near future.
The first half was fairly uneventful until a nasty looking injury to Rovers midfielder Marc De Val Fernandez on the stroke of half time saw him carried off the pitch.
David Cotterill had a good chance to give Rovers the lead early in the second half but he somehow fired wide.
Cotterill again went close, this time seeing his effort being saved. At the other end, Kello tipped a shot from Bob McHugh.
Chris Brown came closest to winning the game for Rovers but his header was easy for the Motherwell goalkeeper.
Rovers now head out to Portugal before returning for their final pre-season friendly at Bradford City on July 27th.
Marion Kello; Paul Quinn (Liam Wakefield 61), Jean Yves M`Voto (Evan Finnegan 78), Tommy Spurr; Rob Jones (Luke McCullough 78), Marc De Val Fernandez (Paul Keegan 44), David Cotterill (James Husband 61) Kyle Bennett (David Syers 46), Billy Paynter (Chris Brown 61), Dean Furman (James Harper 61), James Coppinger (Mark Duffy 61)
