Makepeace Testimonial

It has been announced that the last game of football to be played at Belle Vue will be a testimonial match for former player Brian Makepeace.

Makepeace was a very popular player in his time and is still regarded by many fans as one of the best full backs Rovers have had. He played for Rovers between 1951 and 1961.

The game will take place on December 28th.

It seems a strange time to do it, isn't there going to be enough games over the christmas period?

Great idea. I wonder if this game might get switched to the new stadium if the Dragons game on Boxing day is called off. Don't we need a dry run in the new stadium before we can have a full capacity league match in it.
