DRFC No future at Rovers for Griffin

Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov says out of contract defender Andy Griffin is not in his future plans at the club.

The vastly experienced defender has been training with Rovers this season, maintaining his fitness whilst he looks for another club, something Dickov is happy to help him do.

Speaking in the South Yorkshire Times , Dickov said, "Previous to me coming in Andy was offered a contract, albeit it didn`t get down to talking terms or figures, or anything like that.

"Andy`s a top professional. We want to try and look after him.

"With Quinny and Reece [Wabara] here, his chances are going to be limited.

"As a senior pro I have to show him respect and let him know he`s not going to be in my plans."

Griffin signed for Rovers on a short-term deal last October following his release from Reading.

He made 18 appearances for Rovers, as they won the League One title on the final day although he was forced to miss the final month of the season with a torn hamstring.
