Aussie Keeper In On Loan

With Andy Warrington and Alan Blayney still sidelined through injury, and Jan Budtz doubtful with an infected toe, SOD has signed a keeper.

John Filan made 15 league appearances for Wigan last season after joining the club back in 2001 from Blackburn in a 600,000 deal.

The 36 year old is available for selection for tonights game at Belle Vue against Oldham.

Ben Smith is not on loan, we signed him on a one year contract. Filan is a good signing, just hope he does not get crocked.

its a very good signing, I would sooner have him and Andy Warrington at the club and get rid of Blayney and Budtz.

I'm impressed with that signing. We needed an experienced head in goal. FILAN FILAN!!

Filan played really well as you would expect with someone who has his history. It's like having Southall back between the sticks but just with a bit more dexterity. As I've said before though, our defence isn't a problem.
