DRFC Dickov baffled by disallowed goal

Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov was left baffled after seeing his side lose 3-0 at home to Leeds United.

Rovers trailed at half time but controlled the game for long periods of the second half and were denied a crucial equaliser when Theo Robinson saw his effort ruled out for offside, something that left Dickov baffled.

Speaking on BBC Radio Sheffield, Dickov said, "We have lost 3-0 and in the second half we played really well and we took the game to them.

"We caused them all sorts of problems in the second half and the offside goal was a big decision.

"I have seen it again and Theo was a yard onside and with us controlling the second half, the least we would have gone on to get was a point.

"The decision baffled me."

Matt Smith had given Leeds a first half lead and only a fingertip save by Leeds keeper from Richie Wellens denied Rovers going in level at half time.

The controversial moment of the game came halfway through the second half with Rovers camped in the Leeds half.

Theo Robinson latched onto a through ball and dispatched his effort past Kenny only for a very late flag from the assistant to deny him an equalising goal.

Rovers continued to press for an equaliser and Martin Woods went close when he fired just wide.

Two goals late on from Ross McCormack and Rodolph Austin gave the scoreline a flattering look.

With Sheffield Wednesday winning and Yeovil Town drawing, there are now just three points separating Rovers in twentieth and the relegation places.
