Rovers Vs Chesterfield

When we win a match you should be happy with the three valuable points. Sadly for most fans leaving Belle Vue they were happy that the match was over.

The current style of football at Belle Vue under the Sean O'Driscoll era is painful to watch. The club may be in a transitional period and all that but players cannot even pass the ball to each other now. The nice pass and move football has disappeared and long balls or long passes have become the norm. No wonder the club chairman has decided to miss the match and go on his holiday. The team is playing is so narrow that you doubt that McIndoe would get a game if he was still here. Already rumours of player un-rest are going around the terraces and it will be interesting to see who is still here when the transfer window re-opens.

Rovers won the game with a stroke of good fortune. A Barry Roche clearance was blocked by Forte, and he slotted the ball home. That was one of only two shots on target all game.

The only incident of note was when the linesman got clattered and went down easily when a Chesterfield defender tackled Lewis Guy.

This may will be three wins on the spin but Rovers have played three poor teams. Cheltenham will go down, Huddersfield put out a mix & match team and Chesterfield were hoofers. Away at Wycombe and Bristol City will be real tests.
