DRFC Dickov happy to finally land striker
Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov says he has brought in a player he has been trying to sign for a while after signing Aston Villa striker Jordan Bowery on a one-month loan deal
With Billy Sharp suspended and Theo Robinson only just returning to training after a lengthy lay off, Dickov has brought in the 22-year-old to bolster the Rovers attack and he made his debut in the game with Barnsley on Saturday.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Dickov said, "Jordan is a young player who I have watched for a long time.
"I have tried to sign him on a number of occasions and have been unsuccessful. I have to thank Paul Lambert (Aston Villa manager) for that.
"Fans have seen in the game with Barnsley what he can bring to us. He is a big powerful boy, a lot of pace, great attitude and he works ever so hard.
"We have him for a month initially and we will take it from there."
Bowery played 78 minutes of the 2-2 draw against Barnsley before limping off after suffering cramp.
