DRFC Billy admits it is all over for him at Rovers

Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Paynter feels he has played his last game for the club.

The striker is on loan at Sheffield United for the remainder of the season after making just a handful of appearances for Paul Dickov at the Keepmoat following his arrival in the summer and he is out of contract in the summer.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Paynter said, "As soon as I knew they were interested, I wanted to leave. I was only getting limited chances at Doncaster, I wanted a fresh start, and I have been given that opportunity.

"I am playing for my future so I have to get my head down and score some goals.

"I think it is all over at Doncaster. It is a shame but a new manager came in and he had new ideas. I had a good time at Doncaster and we won promotion, so it is a shame."

Paynter enjoyed a successful first season at the Keepmoat following his arrival from Leeds United. The striker was the clubs leading goalscorer last season with 13 goals as they won the League One title and it was his run and pass that set up the dramatic last day winner at Brentford.

The 29-year-old made 52 appearances for Rovers scoring 14 goals during his spell at the Keepmoat
